Former lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (28-01, 20 KOs), plans to fight once again in the US in Spetember or October. Jarrel Miller, who is a Brooklyn native could face the “Gypsy King” at the end of the year.
Since Miller is a well-known boxer from his hometown, promoter Frank Warren is very open to the idea of opposing him to Fury in New York City.
“The goal is t give him more visibility, which matters a lot when he has to face Deontay Wilder again after their first controversial fight that should have resulted in a win for Tyson.” Warren said.
“Let’s hope he can fight here with an American boxer late this year, and I’m open to prospect that Jarrel Miller will be Tyson Fury’s next opponent.
“It seems likely that the fight will be at Madison Square Garden in New York in September or October. I hope it will be finalised fairly quickly and we can be in a position to make an official announcement.” Warren said.
The “Big Baby” was attended at ringside last month, when Fury debuted in Las Vegas. The Gypsy King then destroyed the German Tom Schwarz in two rounds at the MGM Grand. He is currently serving a suspension for failing three anti-doping tests, which he was supposed to face Anthony Joshua.
According to reports, the third tested positive for EPO was also done on March 31, and it was once again revealed positive to the GW1516.
Miller’s suspension will expire in September, but a big question is whether Miller will be able to get his license in New York, and Fury actually needs an opponent for promotional purpose.
“Here is your Miller. Many things can be said now. I’ll go straight to the point. I did everything I made a bad decision. I should have handled the situation well.” Miller said two month ago.
“But I handled it badly and I pay the price. I just missed out on a great opportunity and have a pain inside.” Miller added.
