A total of seven matches of week 37 of the 2021-2022 Premier League just ended this morning, Monday (16/5/2022). Of the seven matches, of course the most interesting is the draw with Manchester City and the important victory won by Tottenham Hotspur.
First let’s talk about Manchester City. The Citizens, who are currently being chased by Liverpool in the race for the 2021-2022 Premier League title, intend to win at West Ham United’s headquarters.
However, Man City could only achieve a 2-2 draw. In fact, Man City almost lost to West Ham.
Because in the first half, Josep Guardiola’s troops were already 0-2 behind because of a brace from Jarrod Bowen in the 24th and 45th minutes. Fortunately, Man City was able to rise in the second half.
Starting with Jack Grealish’s goal in the 49th minute, then an own goal by Vladimir Coufal in the 69th minute, Man City managed to equalise. As a result, the match ended 2-2 and Man City could only bring home one point.
Even though a draw is not a satisfactory result, at least Man City will keep Liverpool at bay, who now have a four-point difference. Liverpool of course can still catch up because the club, which has just won the 2021-2022 FA Cup, has yet to play its 37th game.
Then a positive result was won by Tottenham who won 1-0 over Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Thanks to Harry Kane’s penalty kick goal in the 45+8 minute, The Lilywhites have now successfully penetrated the top four.
Of course, Tottenham’s position, which already has 68 points, is still not safe, because Arsenal, who is in fifth position, still has one game left to play. Arsenal itself has now collected 66 points.
