Former world number 1 Garbine Muguruza hopes to rediscover his neat performance in the 2020 season and once again be at the top.
The Spaniard, Garbine Muguruza, who will return to work with Conchita Martinez in the 2020 season, revealed, “There have been many new players appearing and being at a high level of play for quite a long time is complicated.”
“You can’t lower even half of your level. There are many details that you must pay attention to all the time. That is a challenge. It is impossible to think that we are machines.”
Currently ranked 35th in the world, Muguruza said that being in the tennis world for young and senior girls was very difficult.

“Many of the tennis players are still teenagers or at the age of 20 years which became the center of attention of many people and everyone commented on them,” Muguruza added.
“We are very alone and we need to have a lot of strength so as not to sink in bad times, especially in individual sports, and try to keep thinking positive. The key to a good career is being able to overcome happy and sad times.”
“You can’t sink too deep in bad times or you can’t lose yourself when you’re drinking success. I really like what I do, I know what it’s like to be on top and I always want to be there.”
Meanwhile, Muguruza is looking forward to returning to work with Martinez.
“We started a new season from the start and like every season, we have replenished our energy and are excited to be back in action. Conchita and I have known each other for quite a long time. We have many happy memories, “Muguruza added.
Speaking about the targets and the Olympics in 2020, Muguruza added, “It’s a long process and there are no secrets. Targets are about stepping forward. In the 2020 season, there are Grand Slams, the Olympics, and other tournaments. So, I will try to go far in all tournaments.”
