England national team coach, Gareth Southgate, does not want to burden Jude Bellingham too much at Euro 2024. He wants his team to be able to play collectively as a team to win.
With Real Madrid, Bellingham had an extraordinary season. Even though he only joined Los Blancos in the 2023 summer transfer market, he immediately made a big contribution by scoring 23 goals and 13 assists in 42 matches in all competitions.
It is hoped that Bellingham can make the same contribution when strengthening the England national team. Moreover, the Three Lions team is determined to become champions of Euro 2024 after being runners-up in the previous edition.
Southgate is aware that Bellingham feels pressure to appear with the England national team at Euro 2024. However, he believes the 20-year-old player can handle the pressure.
“I’m sure he (can handle the pressure) but we didn’t give everything to Jude,” said Southgate, quoted from the Independent, Sunday (9/6/2024).
The man with the British passport wants his team not to burden Bellingham to appear at Euro 2024. According to him, the England national team has many quality players and working as a team will win the title.
“We have a lot of good players and are playing as a team to try to win this tournament. “If we rely on one person, it won’t be a winning team,” he concluded.
Ahead of Euro 2024, the England national team surprisingly lost in a friendly match. Competing at Wembley Stadium, Saturday 8 June 2024, they lost 0-1 to the Icelandic National Team.
