Gary Neville spoke about former his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s near feature. The Manchester United legend believes that the Portuguese striker will play in a top team.
The former England international has insisted that Ronaldo will play a leading role at his new club, in such a way that United will regret his departure.
“He will look for a top club and sign a contract for four or five months. A club where he can reach and play an important role among the elite of European football.” Neville told Sky Sports.
“I think that will be his priority. Staying in the Champions League, keeping up at the top and prove Manchester United wrong,”
“I still think he’s going to have a really good four or five months, score 15 or 20 goals, and everybody at Manchester United is going to say, ‘We should have kept him.’ And the Premier League too.”
“At the end of the season, I think will think: ‘Okay, how are my next two years going to be, how do I want the end of my career to be and what will my next project be?’” Neville added.
Ronaldo is a free agent after leaving Manchester United and he now has two offers on the table from the biggest clubs in Saudi Arabia’s capital of Riyadh.
Neville has believed that Ronaldo has made the right decision to leave Old Trafford, wishing his former teammate good luck.
“I think Cristiano has the priority of playing in the Champions League and being among the elite of football, that’s where he thinks he should be and where he really should be. I hope he succeeds wherever he goes.” Neville said.
“It didn’t work at Manchester United, and I think ending the contract was the right decision for both the club and Cristiano.” he added.
