VCT Pacific 2024 Stage 2 is the highest Asia Pacific level tournament in the Valorant competitive scene in the second half of this year. This tournament, which is officially organized by Riot Games, is also looking for three teams that will represent Asia Pacific at VCT Champions 2024.
The grand finals of the VCT Pacific 2024 Stage 2 itself pits Gen.G Esports against DRX. This match could be said to be a South Korean derby, considering that both of them come from the country of ginseng which is also the host of this tournament.
The top match of this tournament uses a best of 5 format so that the match is more tense. The first round which took place at Haven absolutely belonged to DRX with a score of 13-6 which made them take the lead first.
This victory turned out to be the only point achieved by DRX in the grand finals this time. The problem is that after that, Gen.G Esports managed to turn things around and not be overtaken by DRX.
The second round match was the match with the longest duration in the grand finals. Both teams were chasing each other’s scores before Gen.G Esports secured the second round with a score of 18-16 and made the final match a 1-1 draw.
The momentum possessed by Gen.G Esports continued in the next two rounds. Lakia and friends won the third round with a score of 14-12 and the final round belonged to Gen.G Esports with a score of 13-6. This result made Gen.G Esports win with a score of 3-1 and ensure that they won their first VCT Pacific title in history.
Gen.G Esports, DRX, and Paper Rex are the three teams that will represent Asia Pacific at VCT Champions 2024. The victory achieved by Paper Rex over Talon Esports was enough to bring Paper Rex to accompany Gen.G Esports and DRX to advance to the world level tournament.
