George St-Pierre canceled his clash with Michael Bisping

George St-Pierre finally explained why his clash with Michael Bisping has been canceled and at the same time postpones his return in the octagon. Speaking at the press conference in Montreal, GSP claims that it was an eye injury that pushed him to ask the UFC not to fight this summer as planned before.

“I underwent a small operation to one eye and my vision did not return to 100 per cent. The UFC knew that I could not fight this summer and I got the green light from the doctor to start my sparring in September,” St-Pierre told media.

“The prospect to fight Michael Bisping is excited me. He is a tough opponent who is world champion and has beaten the best. He also had the courage to rise up against drugs in sport just like me.” he added.

A fight with Bisping could be possible at the earliest in November after a training camp that would start in September for St-Pierre. “I’m fit, but it’s different from being fit to fight. I would like to fight now, but the doctor will not sign the papers to allow me fight. I do not want to make a millionaire cheater.” St-Pierre told again.

The GSP, whose last fight was in November 2013 against Johny Hendricks, does not seem to be hot to face the potential winner of a clash between the welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and his aspiring Demian Maia organise the UFC.

Since GSP return, several fighters have expressed a desire to fight against him, but the he is not ready to grant this favour to anyone. “All the fighters want to fight with me because they know they’re going to make a lot of money. I would be happy to make a millionaire a gut like Michael Bisping, but I will not do the same for cheaters,” GSP told.

“A fight against Michael Bisping is still possible. I would like to fight him and he also wants to fight me. That was the battle wanted to make.” he added.
