Ltd announced that it is building Sikkim’s first sports betting and online gaming establishment. Golden gaming was the first to start legal online betting and gaming in Sikkim which will also open gates of tourism and employment here in the state.
The company stated in a press release that it launched in accordance with the laws passed by the Sikkim Government and it has been granted a regular license by the Government of Sikkim for conducting online games and sports betting within the boundaries of Sikkim state. The company has already identified and developing a landmark property of around 8,000 sq. ft on the prestigious New Market (Upper MG Marg) Gangtok. This property is being redesigned to include modern kiosks and sports events waging zones for the guests.
This flagship gaming arena was inaugurated by former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev who was also the chief guest at the opening ceremony at MG Marg, Gangtok. On this occasion Manoj Sethi, director of Golden Gaming International Pvt, Ltd said “Our venture is the first such initiative in the country which will bring fiscal revenues to the state of Sikkim as well as provide employment to local youth and establishment of self-sustenance counters. Recently, even the Justice Lodha committee report has asked state governments to legalize gambling. I think all other state governments should also study the unique model created by the Sikkim government and legalise, regulate and license gambling and betting.”
With this move, the state is bound to witness an increase in tourism where tourists from all over the country will visit Sikkim will get a chance to try their lady luck. Following this, there are many other players who are ready to invest in gaming establishments here in Sikkim. This will also generate a lot of employment in the state and will offer ample of other businesses to grow along with it such as hotel industry and food and beverage industry. Looking into this even other states are also considering to allow and legalise online betting and gambling which will also open gates for more revenue to the government.
