Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes’ Formula 1 driver, felt lonely during his endeavour to catch Max Vertsappen during Styrian Grand Prix.
The British driver was iffy about where does the German team lags against its rival team Red Bull.
Verstappen took the pole position when he was two-tenth of a second quicker than the Hamilton. It left him confused whether he would be able to over-take on race day or not.
The Dutchman displayed complete dominance at Styrian Grand Prix. He led the race on each lap and score another victory, fourth, of the season. He currently leads the drivers’ championship by 18 points.
Hamilton asked the team if there were any cards that he could play to catch the Verstappen. But, all in vain the gap between the two grew by 17 seconds. He pitted late so he could improve his points by scoring the fastest lap.
“It was a bit of a lonely race really,” Hamilton said.
“I was trying to keep up with those guys but the speed they have, they’ve obviously made some big improvements over the last couple of races and [it was] impossible to keep up.
“I don’t know where we’re losing all the time, but I think their long run seems to be a bit better, they seem to be able to continue pulling out those laps.
“And obviously on the straights, we are losing a lot down the straights, or I feel like we are losing a lot down the straights.
“But nonetheless, we got good points as a team today and we just got to keep pushing.”

Red Bull has recently dominated the season and its straight-line speed has been applauded at Styrian GP. The team has linked the performance to low drag setup and small rear wing. It has rejected the speculations of any engine upgrade at Paul Ricard.
Hamilton has asked his team to come-up with a solution so that he could compete against Red Bull.
“We need to find some performance, we need an upgrade of some sort, we need to push,” Hamilton said.
“I don’t know whether it’s just the rear wing or whether it’s the upgrade in the engine, whatever it may be, but we’ve got to find some performance.
