Harry Kane Top Score and Premier League Assist King

Harry Kane has been named the Premier League’s top scorer and assists king this season after beating Mohamed Salah.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has managed to become the top scorer in the Premier League this season, scoring 23 goals.

Harry Kane successfully scored one goal in the last Premier League match against Leicester City, Sunday (23/5).

Dueling at King Power Stadium, Harry Kane scored his goal in the first half, exactly 4 minutes before halftime. Starting from Son Heung-min’s cross, the ball hit the feet of a Leicester City defender before landing near Harry Kane.

Without thinking, Harry Kane immediately kicked off a volley via the right foot without being dammed by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. A goal against Leicester made Harry Kane establish himself as the 2020-2021 Premier League top scorer.

One additional goal that made Kane lead over Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah, who collected 22 goals in the Premier League this season.

Thanks to his fertility in scoring goals, Kane has also been awarded the Premier League Golden Boot this season. This is Kane’s third Golden Boot in the Premier League.

Not only that, Kane also received the Playmaker Awards for having the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season.

Kane has recorded 14 assists this season. He excels over Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne and Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes who both have 12 assists.

Thus, Kane has the right to be included in one elite list. Kane joined Andy Cole and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as a player who successfully became the top scorer and top assist in one season. Cole achieved this in 1993/94 when he scored 34 goals and 13 assists, while Hasselbaink in 1998/99 with 18 goals and 13 assists.

Harry Kane’s brilliant season is likely to be his last season with the Lilywhites costume. The 27-year-old striker wants to leave Tottenham at the end of the season. Kane wants to chase the championship trophy, which he has not been able to achieve while in North London.

Tottenham interim coach Ryan Mason thinks Harry Kane deserves to win the Golden Boot and Playmaker Awards.

“Harry Kane deserves to win the Golden Boot today. As I have said so far, I think he is the best player in the Premier League. The most goals and the most assists explains all about Kane,” said Ryan Mason quoted from London Football.

“I feel very honored to have played with him and we have had some great experiences together. I have been very lucky in the last five weeks to have coached him.”

“He scored important goals in important moments and showed brilliant moments. So from an individual point of view, I am very happy that Harry has another Golden Boot to add to his collection,” added Ryan Mason.
