Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has quietly amassed jerseys from two Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea. Does this hint at Osimhen’s interest in transferring to the Premier League and potentially joining either Chelsea or Manchester United?
Osimhen has garnered attention from major European clubs owing to his stellar performances with Napoli. Last season, he impressively netted 31 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions for the Partenopei – Napoli’s moniker.
His remarkable form has drawn interest from several prominent European clubs, including rumored attention from Chelsea and Manchester United during the previous summer’s transfer window.
Given his exceptional abilities, Osimhen may once again attract significant interest from various clubs. Moreover, speculations about a less stable situation at Napoli might have ignited contemplations about a potential move for the Nigerian striker.
During a guest appearance on former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel’s podcast, Osimhen was asked about a potential move to the Premier League. The 24-year-old striker responded by stating that he doesn’t favor a particular team in England but revealed possessing jerseys from both Chelsea and Manchester United.
“I don’t have a favorite Premier League team but I have two jerseys: Chelsea and Man United. “Many of my friends are Chelsea fans, only a few are Man United fans,” Osimhen expressed to the Mirror on Tuesday (14/11/2023).
“The Premier League is highly esteemed by every African player. “It’s a significantly prominent league,” he added.
Certainly, such revelations spark intriguing discussions, potentially linking Osimhen back to the radar of these English clubs in the upcoming transfer windows. However, it’s noteworthy that both Chelsea and Manchester United currently boast strong forward line-ups.
Additionally, Osimhen disclosed that he received an offer from a Saudi Arabian club during last summer’s transfer market. Despite the staggering financial offer, he declined as he intended to remain at Napoli.
Confirming the rejection of the offer, Osimhen mentioned the persistent nature of the unnamed Saudi Arabian club, increasing their financial incentives in their attempts to lure him away.
“What was said is true. I have to be honest, I never thought about leaving last summer because Napoli wanted to keep me, but when the offer came from Saudi Arabia, a huge offer, it was hard to turn it down. I spoke with Napoli and decided to stay,” he revealed.
“That’s crazy. The more I said no, the more they increased their financial offer. It would change my life, they never give up. But I said, no, guys, I will survive,” Osimhen concluded.
