Chelsea wing striker Eden Hazard claimed victory over Arsenal in the 2019 Europa League final at Baku Olympic Stadium, Azerbaijan, Thursday (30/5), would be a perfect farewell if he finally left the end of the season.
Hazard has made a decision about his future at Chelsea. However, he was reluctant to talk about this and chose to focus on looking at the Europa League final.
“This is European competition, so for me, for clubs, for managers, for fans, this is something important. When you play final, it doesn’t matter whether it’s the Champions League, Europa League or League Cup, you just want to win. “I just want to take the trophy home and celebrate,” Hazard said.
Real Madrid became a club that was widely linked to waging Hazard. Reported by Sky Sports, Chelsea want £ 130 million to release the 28-year midfielder.
However, Madrid asked the price of the Belgian player no more than £ 88 million. The transfer number refers to the player’s contract that will expire next year.
“When you played for Chelsea at the start of the season, people thought about which trophy we could have at the end of May, so this is important. We lost the League Cup, so at the end of the season, this is a trophy we can work on.”
“I just want to win the trophy, that’s all. It doesn’t matter if I score or I don’t score. If this is my last match, I hope to bring the trophy. Will it be a perfect farewell? Yes,” Hazard said.
Through his words, Hazard did not seem to attempt to hide his departure from Chelsea which was imminent. Basically, the former Lille LOSC player had made a decision ahead of the last Premier League match on 12 May. However, Hazard and Chelsea will only open the decision after the Europa League final.
“Yes. A few weeks ago I made a decision. This is not about me personally. “We still have to play the final, and I think after that my future will be clear,” said Hazard.
Hazard was brought in from Lille to Chelsea in 2012 with a £ 32 million transfer. He has scored 108 goals in 351 appearances and led Chelsea to win two Premier League titles (2014/2015 and 2016/2017), FA Cup (2017/2018), Europa League (2012/2013) and Premier League Cup (2014/2015).
Although his future has not been covered by certainty, Hazard stated that he could not see the opportunity to play with other English clubs.
“There is no chance, nothing. I am Blue! That means a lot,” he said. “I can’t play for other clubs in this country.”
