Hellas Verona vs Inter Milan results: Score 2-2

Inter Milan drew 2-2 when they visited Hellas Verona’s headquarters, Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in the 38th Serie A 2023/2024 giornata match, Sunday (26/5/2024).

Acting as hosts, Hellas Verona conceded first through Marko Arnautovic’s strike (10′).

Six minutes later, it was the visitors’ turn to concede through Tijjani Noslin. Hellas Verona were even able to reverse the position through the action of Tomas Suslov (37′).

Before the first half was over, Marcus Thuram sent a pass which was successfully converted into an equalizer by Marko Arnautovic.

Alexis Sanchez was actually able to score a goal in the 90th minute. However, the former Barcelona, Udinese, Manchester United and Arsenal player’s shot was disallowed because he was caught in an offside position.

This score lasted until the match ended.

This result clearly has no effect on the Nerazzurri, who have already secured the Italian League title, aka the Scudetto.

Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan recorded 94 points and is firmly at the top of the Italian League standings. They are 21 points ahead of AC Milan who locked in the runner-up position.

Meanwhile, Hellas Verona rose to 13th place in the Serie A classification table with 38 points.

The spotlight is on the Inter Milan goalkeeper of Indonesian descent, Emil Audero Mulyadi. He appeared as a starter but ended up conceding two goals.

Even the loan goalkeeper from Sampdoria was replaced by Raffaele Di Gennaro in the 68th minute. This is a farewell match for Emil Audero Mulyadi with Inter Milan, who reportedly will not make the status of the Mataram-born goalkeeper permanent.

On the reserve bench, Emil Audero Mulyadi received a hug from the coaching staff as his final moment of the season strengthening the Nerazzurri.

The veteran Austrian striker broke through Verona’s goal after winning the ball from the opposing defender, Diego Coppola.

Arnautovic finished with a right-footed shot in a one-on-one situation. Verona peeked at the gap by counterattacking and this strategy paid off.

The Indonesian goalkeeper, Emil Audero, who was installed as Inter’s starter this week, missed twice in the bottom left corner of the goal.

The host’s deadly combination, Tijjani Noslin-Tomas Suslov, made things difficult for La Beneamata’s defense. Suslov’s action of sneaking between the Inter defenders resulted in a breakthrough pass that released Noslin from the offside trap.

In a one-on-one situation with Audero, the Dutch striker put the ball smoothly into the goal.

Verona actually turned in a 2-1 lead when the match passed half an hour. This time it was Noslin’s turn to execute Suslov’s pass perfectly.

The Slovakian attacking midfielder’s low shot went smoothly to the same side without Audero being able to reach it.

Towards the end of the first half, Inter was saved by Arnautovic’s second goal.

Starting from Nicolo Barella’s cross into the penalty box, the ball bounced off Davide Frattesi’s chest and was directed at Arna who was beside him.

With a half-volley shot, the bomber managed to put the ball into the goal for the second time.

Entering the second half, Inzaghi dismantled the team composition by entering a number of players.

Including the third goalkeeper, Raffaele Di Gennaro, who replaced Audero, and Alexis Sanchez as a substitute for Arnautovic.

At the end of the match, Sanchez celebrated the goal that could have won Inter dramatically. However, the goal was disallowed via VAR for offside and the final position did not change.

Marko Arnautovic deserves to be chosen as the best player in the Hellas Verona vs Inter Milan duel.

Even though he only played for 56 minutes, Arnautovic was still the brightest star in this match. He successfully scored two goals, all of which were created in the first half.

In the process of the first goal, Arnautovic was able to surpass the speed of the Verona players to catch a through ball which he then finished coolly into a goal.

In the second goal, Arnautovic’s sharp instincts again played a big role. The Austrian striker carefully fired a first-time volley following Davide Frattesi’s brilliant assist.
