Hundreds of Indonesian Students Participate in the Moonton Cares Esports Talent Regeneration Program

A total of 520 students spread across Indonesia registered to take part in the esports talent regeneration initiative program initiated by Moonton Cares together with the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) Indonesia. The students who take part in this program which is divided into three phases–mentorship, scholarship, intership–come from 50 well-known universities such as the University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Padjadjaran University, and Diponegoro University.

In 2023, this initiative program will be limited to only the two universities involved, namely Perbanas Institute and Seventeen August 1945 University as an initial step to prepare modules and mature plans to contribute to the world of education. In 2024, student enthusiasm and participation will increase significantly compared to the same program last year.

Registration for the Mentorship, Internship and Scholarship program from Moonton Cares takes place from March 8 and closes on March 31 2024.

Furthermore, they will receive mentorship or training from industry experts, who are also Moonton Indonesia’s partners in the esports sector. There are already special modules that focus on esports as a career path for young Indonesians, namely:

  • Esports Broadcast & Production
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Esports KOL & Influencer management
  • Media Journalism and Esports Content Strategy.

“In line with the aim of establishing MDL as a place to hone esports talents, in the mentorship program students will be given the opportunity to be directly involved in organizing MDL as one of the biggest esports leagues in Indonesia with the highest peak viewership. We hope that students will get experience in how to organize a professional esports league and also experience world of work to prepare for their future,” said Azwin Nugraha, Public Relations & Communications Manager of Moonton Esports Indonesia.

After the mentorship, the committee team will select the 15 best students to receive scholarships from Moonton Cares, and the 30 best students will get internship opportunities at Indonesian MLBB esports partner companies.

The total scholarship that will be awarded is USD 7,500 or the equivalent of IDR 119 million, as well as the opportunity to undertake an internship program in the esports industry.
