BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 came to an end last night with a thriller best-of-five series that delivered some of the most intense matches the Dota 2 fans got to witness in quite some time.
Team Falcons reached the grand finals from the upper bracket series and were joined on Saturday, October 26, by Tundra Esports, who first had to go through BetBoom Team in the lower bracket finals.
Team Falcons vs Tundra Esports
Coming all warmed up from the lower bracket finals, Tundra opened the grand finals with a dominating first game victory. Their teamfight control and high ground push power with Luna, Ember Spirit and Beastmaster were unmatched by Falcons. In fact, Neta “33” Shapira’s Beastmaster was such a nuisance for Falcons and played such an impactful role in game one, that the hero never passed through the first phase of bans in the entire series.
33 was heavily targeted in the banning phase through all five games. His Visage has also been first ban material the whole series, which made Tundra revolve their strategies around Enigma, Bristleback and Broodmother. 33 got to play two Brood games, and went 1-1 with it in the grand finals. He put Tundra in the lead in game three, but lost game 4, which pushed the grand finals to a decisive game 5.
The final game of the night went to the 72-minute mark despite Falcons’ heavy-pushing line-up with Nature’s Prophet, Chen, and Alchemist on their side. Tundra was able to match Falcons’ aggression in the action-packed decider with a carry Ursa and perfect positioning from 33 on an Enigma.
Past the 60-minute mark, it all came down to perfect pickoffs and buyback timers. It was in the end Tundra who were left out of resources and had to tap out in a series, where each game revolved around the offlaners. While 33 was not given a chance to showcase some of his most powerful heroes, Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf was the pivotal factor for Falcons on his signature Mars and Doom, heroes he got to play in four of the five games. His Arena of Blood positioning in teamfights to either protect his carry or to land a perfect death trap for Tundra made the difference for Falcons in game two, while his Doom allowed Falcons to push the series to a game five.
In the last game of the series, Tundra used their bans on Doom and Mars along with Razor, another ATF specialty, and Bristleback. However, ATF was able to have the same impact on an offlane Pangolier, on which he went full aggressive stance with a Diffusal Blade first item followed by Blink Dagger, Aeon Disk and Aghanim’s Scepter. Past the 40-minute mark, he built towards full control with Octarine, refresher, Abyssal, and Disperser to allow Falcons to complete a full redemption arc against Tundra.
When are Falcons and Tundra playing next?
The answer to that question is TODAY. The two grand finalists will get no time to rest and reset from BetBoom Dacha as both of them are set to compete at DreamLeague Season 24, which starts today, October 27, 2024. More so, they are seeded in the same group and will play against each other less than 24 hours after the BB Dacha grand finals.
Team Falcons vsTundra Esports is scheduled to commence at 19:30 CET, so make sure to tune in and see how the saga between these two teams develops next.
