“I contacted Maatsen this morning. No (it wasn’t a difficult conversation). “This is my job, I knew this moment would come,” continued Koeman.
“I have to think about when to tell Ian Maatsen about my decision because he still has to play in the Champions League final. I thought this morning was a good time to tell him because he still has three days left to focus on the final. He was disappointed,” he added.
Yes, Koeman confirmed that Maatsen was disappointed because the Netherlands did not take him to Euro 2024. So will this feeling of disappointment make Maatsen switch to playing for the Indonesian national team?
