Ibrahimovic to return to United duty at the end of this year

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly is not far off a long-awaited return to the ground. The Swedish striker, who heals in record time, could make EPL comeback before the end of 2017.

Ibrahimovic was seriously injured in the the quarter-final of the Europa League against Anderlecht last April. He signed a one-year contract once more at Old Trafford, while undergoing rehabilitation, at the end of August.

According to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, Ibrahimovic, who has been predicted an absence between 9 and 12 months, see the end of the tunnel.

“Zlatan is here, he works here and under our control. It works as you would expect, so much, so hard. But he will not be back next week or the next,” Mourinho said in a press conference.

“Let him take his time and come back when everyone feels that is the right moment. Do I think he’ll be back in 2017? Yes, I believe it. But it’s just a feeling.

“I had a chat with Zlatan when he was in the gym the other day. I think he is looking forward to comeback, most probably in December or January time.” the Portuguese added.

This is obviously a very good news for Mourinho’s side, who must also deal with the long-term absences of Marcos Rojo, Maroune Fellani or Paul Pogba.

Above all, it will be the opportunity for the Special One to bring a little more weight to his forward, where Romelu Lukaku, very much sought until now, knows his first period of less well since his arrival at Old Trafford.

Despite failing to finish in the top four in the Premier League last season, United successfully booked their place in the Champions League this side alongside Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.

On Wednesday night thanks to Marcus Rashford, the Red Devils secured a 1-0 Champions League win over Benfica at the Estadio da Luiz in Lisbon.

With former Barcelona and PSG striker, United will find a leader in the locker room and on the ground that will help them get closer to their goals in the Premier League title but also in the Champions League.
