Iga Swiatek, a Polish tennis player, had a few words to share when Novak Djokovic praised him at the 2023 US Open season.

Serbian tennis player Djokovic stated that the 2022 US Open champion is a knight who has a high fighting spirit and he admires the professionalism that the Polish tennis player uses in his game.

In a recent interview with Polish media, Super Express, the world number 1 was reminded by journalists and recalled what Djokovic, who has 24 Grand Slam titles, said about his game in August this season.

The tennis player who has won four Grand Slam titles was then asked whether the warrior spirit or warrior spirit was innate or had to be learned over time. He then answered that he always gives his all when he does anything, but there are times when he can’t play with the same focus and intensity.

“I remember I always didn’t want to waste time on the pitch and when I did something, I always felt I had to do it 100 percent. There were times when I just couldn’t play like that, with the same focus and intensity. “It wasn’t until the 2022 season when I reached that level that everything came together and started working well,” explained Swiatek.

The 22-year-old tennis player also commented on his psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, who has been with him since the 2019 season, for helping him to stay focused and be the best in tournaments.

“This is also the result of collaboration with psychologist, Daria Abramowicz. Because when it comes to focus, I’ve never been the best at this element before. And now, I am the best player in the tournament and many players can learn from us. That’s why I’m proud of myself and the team,” added Swiatek.

Apart from that, he was also asked which season made him prouder between the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

“It’s hard to compare. In the 2022 season, everything went very smoothly, the 37-game winning streak started and I honestly don’t know how it all happened. “I won the French Open, we know what we are aiming for and we want to achieve it without any serious problems,” said Iga Swiatek.

“This season is different because I have two injuries which are serious and could keep me out for a longer time if we deal with them badly. There were many ups and downs regarding my performance and the rivalry with Aryna Sabalenka became very intense.”
