Immediately officially joining Manchester United, Andre Onana sent a farewell message to Inter Milan. The goalkeeper from Cameroon admitted that he was sad because he was about to leave the Nerazzurri – Inter Milan’s nickname.
Andre Onana will soon be officially dressed as Manchester United in the transfer market this summer. The Red Devils – nicknamed Manchester United – reportedly redeemed the 27-year-old goalkeeper worth 55 million euros.
Manchester United have yet to officially announce his move. However, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has openly stated that he will join Manchester United while expressing his sadness at leaving Inter Milan.
“Part of my heart is sad. Leaving Inter means leaving a family, not an ordinary team. I learned that playing for Inter is a way of life and living life,” said Onana, quoted from Football Italia, Wednesday (19/7/2023).
“It’s very important to be honest and tell people the truth. I am a person who always wants a new challenge. Playing in the Premier League for a club like Manchester United is exciting. Everyone wants to make it happen,” he said.
Onana insists that he is leaving Inter Milan in a good way. The reason is, he has a good relationship with the squad nicknamed the Nerazzurri. He also expressed his gratitude for the good memories for one season and did not forget to wish Inter Milan the best.
“I relate well with everyone, but I can name real friends like Hakan Calhanoglu, Alex Cordaz, Romelu Lukaku and Denzel Dumfries. I want to mention one more, Samir Handanovic. The task is complicated, but he is always right with me. His tips made me grow and I will remember them in this new adventure in Manchester,” he said.
“I want to thank everyone who works at Pinetina, the club directors, the President and teammates, and most importantly, the fans. I played at Milan for one year, but I will be an Interista forever. Now I will support Inter in front of the TV. I hope Inter can win the Scudetto, which we missed. I know they really want a second star. Hopefully, this is the right time to put it on your chest!,” added Onana.
Moving to Manchester United means that Andre Onana will meet Erik Ten Hag again, the coach who guided him at Ajax Amsterdam. It is known that Onana only has to undergo medical tests and after that he is officially announced as a new player for The Red Devils.
