Even more similar to other MOBA games, DOTA 2 is now introducing its newest feature, namely Innate Ability, or passive skills that appear before the hero levels up. This introduction to Innate Ability was present in Act II in the major update ‘Crownfall’.
This Innate Ability allows players to maximize the heroes they use, or simply provide greater growth in the game. There are Innates that are as simple as increasing status, there are also those that even provide game changing for the hero in teamfights.
You can find a description of the Innate Ability on the shield icon in the game menu, where you can see how the hero can act even from the start of the level. For example, Sniper with the Innate Ability Keen Scope gives himself 100 Ranged Attack when Sniper raises his Ultimate skill, or Chaos Knight has a 50 percent chance of generating one additional illusion when he casts an illusion from his skill.
This Innate Ability is the same as the Passive skill from League of Legends, or similar MOBA games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and so on. However, there are several Innate Abilities that are more overpowering, which may be updated throughout this update.
To date, there are 124 DOTA 2 heroes who have Innate Abilities, so this game by Valve feels like a new game in this Act II Crownfall update. Innate Ability can also be influenced by Talent, as well as the items you buy throughout the game, and even the Shards update which makes DOTA 2’s latest update require more time to adapt before returning to the competitive scene.
