Inter Milan beat AC Milan 3-2 in the Milan Derby match in the Italian League Serie A 2018/2019 at the San Siro Stadium on Sunday (17/3).
Inter Milan is actually in a less favored position in the Milan Derby this time. In addition to being on a poor performance graph, they were plagued by many absent and physical players who were not ideal after appearing in the Europa League in midweek. However, Inter Milan did look very good in the first round and could have scored more than one goal.
Appearing status as a guest, Inter Milan was able to surprise the host. They have broken into the goal of Gennaro Gattuso team when the game has been running for three minutes. Inter Milan continued to excel in the game in the early minutes and in the 17th minute almost scored the second goal. Danilo D’Ambrosio’s cross panicked the AC Milan defense, but Vecino failed to maximize it.
In the 20th minute, Davide Calabria’s long cross was headed by Paqueta, but the ball went wide to the right side of Handanovic’s goal. Two minutes later, Inter Milan made another shot on target. However, Matteo Politano’s effort was easily captured by AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Buying and selling attacks continue to occur. In the 24th minute, Hakan Calhanoglu’s shot after combining with Bakayoko could be blocked by Handanovic. Pressure from Inter Milan in the 30th minute had a good opportunity. Perisic’s crossing failed to be maximized by Vecino, whose ball shot high over the goal.
In the 41st minute, a good chance for Inter Milan is wasted again. Milan Skriniar’s header utilizing a corner kick just wide to the left of Donnarumma’s goal.

Lautaro Martinez who was believed to be the executioner of the penalty managed to hit the ball into Milan’s goal.
Entering the 71st minute, Mateo Mussachio narrowed down to Milan to 2-3. Milan were increasingly motivated to catch up and continue to pressure Inter. However, they seemed to have difficulty breaking into Handanovic’s goal.
The match ended, Inter ensure victory over their rivals in the Milan Derby match with a score of 3-2 in the Italian League Serie A 2018/2019.
