Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi failed to help his team win when they hosted Atlanta United in the 2024 United States League (MLST) match, on Thursday (30/5/2024). Playing at Chase Stadium, Messi, who played for 90 minutes, was defeated with a score of 1-3.

Messi was the party who contributed the only goal for The Herons – nicknamed Inter Miami – in the match against Altanta United. However, Messi’s goal could not save Inter Miami from losing 1-3.

First round

Inter Miami and Atlanta United did not display high intensity at the start of the first half. Due to the second reason, the team tries to develop each other’s game first.

Entering the middle of the first half, Inter Miami and Atlanta United had created opportunities. However, both teams were unable to take advantage of this opportunity to score a goal.

Inter Miami had to fall behind before Atlanta United. This certainty came after Saba Lobjanidze scored a goal by maximizing a pass from Tristan Muyumba in the 44th minute.

Second round

The visiting team was able to increase their advantage over The Herons – Inter Miami’s nickname. The goal was created again by Saba Lobjanidze using Brooks Lennon’s pass in the 59th minute.

Inter Miami did not just stay silent. Due to this, they managed to reduce the deficit through Lionel Messi’s goal by maximizing Sergio Busquets’ pass in the 62nd minute.

The game was quite tight between the two teams. Atlanta United actually managed to score another goal against the home team, this time scored by Jamal Thiare in the 73rd minute.

Until the end of the second half, no additional goals were scored in the match. Inter Miami also lost 1-3 to Atlanta United.
