Inter Milan Player Report Card in Atalanta Destruction: Marcus Thuram is on Fire!

Inter Milan Player Report Card in Atalanta Destruction: Marcus Thuram is on Fire!

Inter Milan crushed Atalanta in the 3rd week of Serie A 2024/2025, Saturday (31/8/2024). They won the Italian League match at Giuseppe Meazza with a landslide score of 4-0.

Inter took an early lead thanks to Berat Djimsiti’s own goal in the 3rd minute. Inter then doubled their lead through Nicolo Barella’s goal from Benjamin Pavard’s assist in the 10th minute.

The defending champion’s victory was confirmed by two goals scored by Marcus Thuram in the 47th and 56th minutes.

Thuram received a high rating thanks to his blazing performance. What about the other Inter players? As reported by Cult of Calcio, here are their reports.

Inter Milan’s Back Line

Yann Sommer – 6
After an inconsistent performance against Genoa in the first week, he managed to record consecutive clean sheets. However, keep in mind, he only needed to make one save.

Brilliant performance tonight. In addition to providing assists, he also did a great job in marking Lazar Samardzic.

Francesco Acerbi – 7.5
Despite his age, he was able to deal with Mateo Retegui’s attacks with ease, winning almost every one-on-one duel, both on the ground and in the air.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7
A classy performance! He barely made a mistake tonight. Equally impressive on both ends of the pitch.

Inter Milan Midfield

Federico Dimarco – 7
Although his crossing and decision-making were often disappointing, the more attack-oriented full-back still did his job well.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 6
Inter’s worst midfielder tonight. Perhaps it’s time for Davide Frattesi or Piotr Zielinski to take his place in the starting XI

Hakan Calhanoglu – 7
Unlike his aforementioned teammates, he put in a calming performance, and was able to dictate the tempo of the game with his accurate passes.

Nicolo Barella – 7.5
The goal was a great display from the diminutive midfielder. He was everywhere!

Matteo Darmian – 6
Coach Simone Inzaghi may have been pleased with his defensive contribution, but his attacking contribution was disappointing.

Inter Milan’s Forwards

Lautaro Martinez – 6
His availability was in doubt before the game. A lack of match fitness seemed to affect the Inter captain’s performance as he failed to make a real impact.

Marcus Thuram – 8
In stark contrast to his partner’s lacklustre performance, the Frenchman was outstanding, starring at the Meazza.

Inter Milan’s Substitutes

Carlos Augusto – 6
Kristjan Asllani – 6.5
Davide Frattesi – 5.5
Mehdi Taremi – 5.5
Marko Arnautovic – Not rated, played too little
