Inter Milan managed to beat Genoa 2-1 in Week 27 of the 2023-2024 Italian League. Coach Simone Inzaghi asked his team not to be satisfied and concentrate on the next match.
Inter achieved their 23rd win of the season at the Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy on Monday (4/3/2024). Playing quite dominantly throughout the match, the Nerazzurri managed to score two goals.
A pair of goals for Inter Milan were recorded by Kristjan Asllani (30′), and Alexis Sanchez (38′ (P)). Meanwhile, Genoa was only able to get one goal back through Johan Vasquez’s hard kick (54′).
This victory puts Inter 15 points ahead of Juventus in the 2023-2024 Italian League standings. Alexis Sanchez and friends have collected 72 points from 23 wins, three draws and only one loss.
After the sweet victory, Inzaghi asked his team not to feel satisfied. Even so, the 47 year old coach is happy that Inter has been able to overcome tough challenges in the last 12 matches.
“We have to remain concentrated, because we have been involved in football for many years, we know there are still many matches to be played, the list of matches will be increasingly busy with Bologna, Atletico Madrid and Napoli ahead of the break on international duty,” said Inzaghi, quoted from Football Italia , Tuesday (5/3/2024).
“I have to thank these players, because in 2024 they played 12 games in 50 days and won all 12 games. “We must not look back or pat ourselves on the back, we must look forward,” added the man from Italy.
Furthermore, Inzaghi said his team had to be consistent to win. With 11 matches remaining in the Italian League, the former Lazio striker emphasized that Inter must be able to maximize the opportunities available.
“We have to continue like this, trying to work as we have been doing. “The players know what our aim is, there are still 11 rounds left in Serie A and 33 points up for grabs, so we can’t let anything go by,” he concluded.
