Inter vs Milan: Revenge for Painful 3 Minutes

AC Milan went through three painful minutes in the 2022-2023 Champions League semifinal first leg against Inter. Milan, hence, wants to return to being a devil. The second leg of the 2022-2023 Champions League semifinals between Inter vs Milan will be presented at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Tuesday (18/5/2023).

AC Milan, who acts as the guest team in the second leg, will challenge Inter. The club alias Il Diavolo Rosso lost 0-2 in the first leg of the semifinals of the 2022-2023 Champions League at the San Siro Stadium, Wednesday (10/5/2023) local time. Milan lost to their city neighbors because of quick goals conceded by Edin Dzeko (8′) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (11′).

Conceding goals in a relatively short span of time really hurt Milan. Moreover, Stefano Pioli’s team failed to score a reply goal. “It hurts to concede two goals in three minutes and fail to score in the second half,” said Milan midfielder, Sandro Tonali, in a press conference ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg, Monday (15/5/2023).

The defeat from Inter spread to the domestic stage. In week 35 of the 2022-2023 Italian League, Milan lost 0-2 when they visited Spezia’s house, Friday (12/5/2023).

An interesting incident emerged after Milan collapsed at Spezia’s cage. The Rossoneri players and their coach, Stefano Pioli, looked towards the Milan ultras. The Milan personnel, whose faces were gloomy after swallowing the bitter defeat from Spezia, looked serious listening to the words made by representatives of the ultras, the club’s militant fans.

A day later, thousands of Milan ultras stormed the club’s training center at Milanello. Supporters try to burn the spirit of the players with chants and chants.

“They gave us something more, in the good times and the bad. Yesterday, the fans showed that they are on our side. We love them,” Tonali said as quoted by Milan News. “We are all united and want to move towards one goal,” the former Brescia midfielder added.

Departing from that, AC Milan has the ambition to show a different face when serving Inter in the second leg of the 2022-2023 Champions League semi-finals. Milan want to return to being devils, according to their nickname Il Diavolo Rosso (Red Devils). “Milan must score goals, play like Milan, and become devils again,” said Tonali at Milan News.
