Real Madrid midfielder Isco refused to talk about his departure to Barcelona. Asked by media on Saturday, he just wants to make a focus on his future with the club until the end of the season.
Barcelona are eager on a move for the 24-year-old this summer. The reigning champions are looking to capitalize on Isco’s contract situation and wish the midfielder to make a free transfer. However, Isco confirms that he still want to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and won’t join other clubs at this time.
“I’m not going to join Barca,” wrote Isco on his twitter account. “With this picture I just wanted to say that we will eat them.” added the former Malaga player.
If his justification is not really convincing, his announcement about his future will reassure a bit the Madrid fans. A little but not totally because his future in the capital remains uncertain when his contracts expire in 2018 and the negotiations for an extension are interrupted.
For Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane, Isco is important player for the club but he still has other 24 players to play at Real Madrid. However, Zidane pushes Isco as a prominent player at the club.
“When Isco plays, since he’s a talented player, he’s good. But we are 24 and all players are important.” Zidane said. “I want him to be a prominent player. He wants to stay and play here.” the Frenchman added.
If Zidane hopes to keep Isco this summer, the situation is complicated since the Spaniard will have only one year of his contract left. A departure will undoubtedly be inevitable if he does not extend by then because the Los Blancos do not wish to see Isco leaves a year later. But an agreement seems difficult since the player would claim 10 million euro while Madrid management propose to him to spend 2 or 6 million euros a year.

Isco has started only eleven games in Spanish La Liga campaign under Zinedine Zidane this 2016/17 season and admitted last month that he was concerned about his playing time at the Bernabeu.
