Isiah Jones Dies at 28 after Fighting with His Brother

Isiah Jones Monday died at the age of 28 after being shot in a family fight, in Detroit, Michigan, in the United States.

According to TMZ, the death was announced by his trainer, Roshawn Jones, on this Tuesday, through a post on Instagram.

“Isaiah Jones (9-7-0) is a Pro Boxer out of Detroit, Michigan, a fellow member of Soul City Boxing and Wrestling Gym, our last fight was against Roy Jones Jr Promotion Team!” Jones tweeted.

“Isaiah, Lost his life yesterday in a tragic event! Please keep his family in your prayers.” Jones added.

Jones, who was not related to Isiah, told The Ring that he was shot in the head after an argument with his brother.

The Detroit Police Department confirmed to the vehicle that a 28-year-old man by the name of the boxer was shot and killed by a relative at approximately 6:26 pm on Monday, but said there was no further information available. So far, no arrests have been made.

“He didn’t turn down fights, every fight he put up, the odds were against him. He had enough heart and courage to take them. He could have taken the easy way out and just filled his record,” Jones said.

Jones on last Saturday was trying to get the boxer to move to his training camp in Toledo, Ohio, for safety reasons, and worried that he lives in Detroit.

“When you live in poverty, there is more frustration, more stressful energy. When you’re poor, it’s easier to get angry.” Jones said.

“He was a great father, he took care of his children. He was a hard worker. Not everyone is perfect in life, but he was a good human being.

“He made you smile and laugh and was a great role model at the gym. Very humble and respectful. Isaiah left two children.” he added.
