Italian League Results: Milan Beat Lazio 3-0

AC Milan won 3-0 over Lazio in an away match in Week 30 of the Italian League at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday (5/7).

Starting the match, AC Milan tries to play short passes in order to hold more possession. However, in the first ten minutes, it was Lazio who was more in control of the game.

Until the first half entered the 15th minute, there were no opportunities to threaten the goal of both Milan and Lazio.

Winger Hakan Calhanolgu gave Milan the lead in the 23rd minute with a stunning strike.

Calhanoglu had a chance to get past some Lazio players before releasing a sensational right foot kick. The shot dived sharply into the goal of Lazio without being able to anticipate by goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.

Senior striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic can score in the 31st minute. However, the goal was disallowed by the referee after VAR declared Ibrahimovic in the offside position.

In the 34th minute Milan got a penalty after Stefan Radu was considered a handball. Ibrahimovic’s penalty kick was initially read by goalkeeper Strakosha, but the ball continued to move wildly and into the Milan goal.

Lazio’s defense became the target of the attack line in this match. Giacomo Bonaventura’s movement in the 58th minute made the back line of the host a mess.

Lazio’s back line which focuses on Bonaventura makes Ante Rebic escape from the supervision of opposing players. Bonaventura calmly gives the ball to Rebic.

Without difficulty the Croatian scored the third goal for Milan in the match in the 59th minute.

Lazio have not only problems with defense, but also attack. The absence of Ciro Immobile made Lazio lose the spirit on the front lines. The Lazio attackers seemed to have difficulty penetrating the Milan defense.

Experiment from Denis Vavro in the 89th minute still failed because his right foot kick from outside the penalty box was a little too high from the Milan crossbar. Milan finally won 3-0 over Lazio.

Victory over Lazio made Milan temporarily move up to sixth in the Italian League standings while shifting Napoli. However, if Napoli win over AS Roma on Monday (6/7), Milan’s position will go down one rank to seventh position of the standings.

As for Lazio, the defeat of AC Milan left them 7 points behind Juventus at the top of the Italian League standings.
