AC Milan managed to beat Juventus 3-0 in the Italy Serie A match at the Allianz Stadium, Monday (10/5).
The Juventus vs Milan match was tough from the first minute. However, both teams had difficulty dismantling the opponent’s defense and firing on target.
Until the 30th minute, Juventus had never fired a shot on target while Milan was only able to record one shot on target.
Until the end of the first half, Juventus had not yet been able to fire a shot on target. At that moment, Milan managed to thrill the Juventus goal through Brahim Diaz.
Brahim Diaz took advantage of Wojciech Szczesny’s mistake who was too brave to get out of the net. Brahim Diaz got a wild ball at his feet in the chaos.
Even though many Juventus players are guarding the goal, Brahim Diaz successfully sends the ball into the top left corner of the Juventus goal.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the first half, Milan had a chance to increase the lead to 2-0 in the 58th minute when they won a penalty.
Penalty was awarded to Milan after referee Paolo Valeri declared Giorgio Chiellini handball in the restricted area following VAR monitoring.
Franck Kessie, who is Milan’s regular penalty taker this time, could not maximize the opportunity well. Kessie’s shot reads well by Szczesny.
The Rossoneri were finally able to increase the lead to 2-0 through Ante Rebic in the 78th minute. Getting the ball from Ismael Bennacer in front of the penalty box, Rebic fired a measured shot which left Szczesny just stunned to watch the ball enter the goal.
Four minutes later, Fikayo Tomori managed to increase Milan’s lead to 3-0. Tomori scored with a header from Hakan Calhanoglu’s cross.
The match ended for Milan winning 3-0.
Stefano Pioli is very satisfied with what his team shows. Moreover, AC Milan won for the first time at the Allianz Stadium.
“I don’t believe there is such a thing as a perfect performance, but we almost made it happen tonight,” Pioli said in his post-match press conference.
“We played as a mature, focused and determined team, won a very difficult and very important match. Milan have never won in this stadium, so it satisfies everyone.”
Tomori became the best player in the match. He not only mobilized defense well, but also made Juventus mainstay, Cristiano Ronaldo, not move.
Pioli admits that he intends to make Tomori permanent next season. It should be noted, the full back was borrowed from Chelsea with a permanent purchase option of 28 million pounds.
“Our intention with Fikayo Tomori is clear and he also has the same intention, but that is for the end of the season and not now,” Pioli added.
