James Harden is expected to bolster the Philadelphia 76ers as soon as next week, according to fantastic news the team has got. The point guard suffered a right foot tendon strain while out for more than a month. Harden had missed the previous 13 games.
According to information from ESPN journalist Tim Bontemps, Sixers star Harden is recovering very well from the injury and could join the team as early as next week.
“He should be back in the next few weeks. There’s a chance he could return on this upcoming three-game trip,” Bontemps said.
Meanwhile, others are betting on an even faster return. Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer wrote on Sunday that Harden could return in a few days. Although he had a lower-than-expected first season in Philadelphia, the number 1 was one of the highlights in the games in which he was on the court.
Harden played nine games and averaged 22 points. He also provided ten assists, second in the league, and seven rebounds, all of which were huge contributions.
However, the appearance of its big star caused the 76ers to get off to a slow start. However, since his injury, which happened at the same time as Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey were sidelined, the 76ers have won eight of their 12 games this season.
While it has won without the most triple-doubles in its career, Philadelphia has suffered, especially on the offensive front. While with Harden the team averaged 115.6 points per game, the numbers dropped to 112.8 without him.
It’s great to have Harden return as he’s an All-Star who’s one of the best playmakers in the NBA. However, it is going to cause the 76ers to go through growing pains just like they had at the beginning of the year.
