Jenson Button hopes to get a longer stay at McLaren

Jenson Button has been finally announced as the teammate of Fernando Alonso. The announcement was made yesterday, Thursday after two weeks by the decision of team. Jenson Button had signed a contract of 2 years with McLaren. The contract signed by Button is for 2015 and 2016 has been kept as an option. After signing the contract, Jenson Button said, “To be part of McLaren-Honda for more than one year is important. I am not just here to be around for one year. I am here to fight for world championships.” Jenson Button is much excited after tying knots with McLaren. Fans of Button are very much hopeful and are looking forward towards Button’s victories in future.

The F1 driver Button expressed his frustration on delays that were made on solving his future issues and he said that he did not want to speak on those delays again. Jenson Button said that he wanted to replace Spaniard Alonso. Spaniard Alonso is known as one of the best drivers of Formula1. At McLaren Technology Center, Jenson Button while sitting with Alonso said, “It’s very special to be sat up here as a race driver with McLaren-Honda and alongside this guy. It has been a long few weeks but sometimes the best things in life are worth waiting for. It is my 16th year in F1 and more importantly my sixth year at McLaren. I’m not one to shy away from new challenges and this is a big one. To race alongside this guy is a big challenge but an exciting challenge.”

After setting all the deals and commitments the team McLaren is much hopeful in regard of Jenson Button upcoming performances. The chairman of McLaren Ron Dennis on contract of Button said, “We settled all the things between us that concerned me and what we all have to do is deliver against the commitments and promises we have made to each other.” In answer to Dennis, Jenson Button said, “I have been very open in how I’ve felt. I don’t think there is any reason to comment any further, the positive is where we are now. And we move on from here.”

After signing a two year contract with McLaren, Jenson Button is much hopeful that he will stay longer with McLaren. In my opinion, Button being a great driver will do wonders for McLaren.
