Joao Felix Red Card, Chelsea Defeated by Fulham

Joao Felix Red Card, Chelsea Defeated by Fulham

Fulham were surprisingly able to beat Chelsea with a score of 2-1 in the English Premier League match.

The duel was marred by a red card for new Chelsea signing Joao Felix at Craven Cottage on Thursday.

Chelsea suffered a seventh defeat in their last 10 matches in all competitions.

The Blues fell behind to a goal scored by their former player, Willian.

Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly equalized in the second half, but Joao Felix was sent off after picking up a red card for a tackle on Kenny Tete.

Fulham finally returned to the lead through a goal scored by Carlos Vinicius.

The defeat left Graham Potter in danger of being sacked just four months after replacing his previous manager, Tomas Tuchel.

The goal made Potter even more miserable and threatened to be sacked just four months after replacing Thomas Tuchel.

Currently, Chelsea are in tenth place with 25 points from 18 matches.

Chelsea have only scored four goals in their last eight matches in all competitions.

The Blues suffered bad results after important players such as Sterling, Kante, Pulisic, Ben Chilwell and Reece James were injured.

In his debut match, Felix received a red card after tackling Kenny Tete in the 58th minute.

Joao Felix will be banned from appearing with Chelsea for the next three matches.

“There was a reaction from the side and it was an attacking tackle, there was no malice in it and I don’t think he was over the player, but I understand why he was sent off. It was another blow,” Potter told BT Sport as quoted by ESPN.

“The attacks just keep coming at the moment. He’s very good, you can see his quality in the game, so it’s very disappointing for us,” continued Potter.

“It’s difficult. I sympathize with the supporters, the players and everyone associated with the club. This is a difficult moment for us,” he continued.

Former Chelsea Willian opened the scoring with a shot in the 25th minute before Koulibaly equalized two minutes into the second half.

After Felix received a red card, Chelsea conceded another goal through a goal scored by Carlos Vinicius with a header in the 73rd minute.

“I never like to talk about individuals when we lose, but the [second] goal itself was frustrating from our point of view,” said Potter.

“I don’t think they put us under too much pressure even though they had extra players. It was an easy goal to concede, and it’s something we have to do better,” he continued.

“I can understand the fans are frustrated because we lost. I make sure I go and applaud because we appreciate their support. It wasn’t easy. We suffered, they suffered. We feel for them and I think it’s important we stick together and try and get through this difficult time.
