Jordan Spieth Misses 18-inch Putt at the 18th at Harbour Town

Former world number one golfer Jordan Spieth on Saturday knocked out a close-range defeat in the 18th hole of the third round of RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour.

Spieth had a birdie chance on a 3.6-meter putt. However, the first putt grazed the rim behind the hole. At this point, the second putt is 18 inches away. But, the ball still didn’t get through. Finally, he closed the bogey with a third putt in a hurry.

If hevsuccessful on the first put, Spieth will score -10 and then be just one stroke from the top of the table.

“Yeah, changed up my stroke feel a little bit, too. Freed me up a little. Kind of got my setup in a better position.” Spieth said.

“I had some bad putts yesterday and still did today on a couple holes, but it was definitely a lot better, and I think it will progress this weekend.” he added.

Spieth had the game six holes ahead of the bottom group. After round 3, the owner of the three majors stood at T9 with a score of -8, while the top of the table belonged to Harold Varner III at -11.

Meanwhile Varner III scored eight birdies and no bogey. He has never won the PGA Tour despite playing professionally since 2012. In February, he won the second time at this level, at Saudi International on the Asian Tour.

Before RBC Heritage, Spieth was like a clock hand turning one full turn when trying to close the hole 6 round 2 of the Texas Open on April 1. From a chance to keep par on the first putt from nearly a meter, he scored a double bogey on the fourth put.

Spieth has been on the PGA Tour since 2013, so far, winning 12 championships, accumulating 26 weeks of being number one in the world. In the traditional major quartet, besides the Masters, he also won the US Open 2015, The Open 2017 and finished second at the 2017 PGA Championship.
