Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo has admitted that he was little bit disappointed with the race at Jerez Circuit on Sunday. He failed to finish the race after being involved in a crash with team-mate Andrea Dovizioso and Honda’s Dani Pedrosa at the end of the race.
In the closing phases, former Movistar Yamaha rider was keeping team-mate Dovizoso and Pedrosa at narrow for second place when Dovizioso made a move on Lorenzo at Turn-6.
The two riders went wide and as Lorenzo tried to cut back to re-seize his position, he touched Pedrosa, who tried to move past Ducati’s riders on the inside. Then, they crashed, with Lorenzo’s out-control bike going to hit Dovizioso.
“I know it was the most shocking thing in the race but I don’t want to give it too much value, because it was clearly bad luck for the three riders,” Lorenzo said to media.
“We are the three cleanest riders in the Championship and we were very lucky. I don’t want to say it’s someone’s fault because we’re always very clean. It’s very bad luck, especially for Andrea and Ducati because they are fighting for the championship.” Lorenzo added.
At Jerez Grand Prix, none the three riders were penalised for the incident, and Lorenzo chocked that the decision, saying a sanction would have been “too much”
“I am very happy with my race at Jerez. From the beginning I was good and suddenly it motivated me even more to do something good.” Lorenzo said.

“I felt right away in the first corner where I passed three braking riders. I could brake really hard. If I had the Yamaha I would have braked even better.
“So I’m happy with my race. Although I rode for eight laps while riding hard, I did not have enough speed to keep me in front. I’m happy with myself, because no rider is able to do it in such conditions, the merit comes back to me.
“In a way, it’s my talent, my luck, this talent that resurfaces and that you’ve been able to see during the past years, I need time today that’s all. If I had been able to ride harder, no one could have caught me.” the Spaniard added.
