Jorge Lorenzo Unhappy with Australia GP Result

Jorge Lorenzo unhappy

Repsol Honda rider, Jorge Lorenzo, admitted he’s not happy with Australia Grand Prix result. The Spaniard finished outside of the points for a fourth successive race, 16th and last of the finishers and over a minute behind team-mate, Marc Marquez, at Phillip Island Circuit.

Speaking to reporters, Lorenzo said he tried to save the tyre during the race, but failed at the end of the race. However, the former Ducati rider is keen to return to Sepang under normal conditions.

“The result is very bad. Of the riders who finished I was last. At this track I did not go well in recent years and it was also very cold and windy.” Lorenzo said.

“I tried to save the tyre on the left side as much as I could, but I did not succeed and the last laps were very bad. I already knew I was going to suffer, you wait for things to change but they don’t.

“In Malaysia, under normal conditions, we hope it goes better. We are a point away from the triple crown, something to which I am not contributing much. Marc winning the race comes as a surprise to me.” Lorenzo added.

Lorenzo thought the Honda would be easy to ride and easy to go fast on. One warning sign from him is the amount he falls off this season. He has always been a bit of a crasher, but as the Honda has become more optimised for Marquez he’s fallen off more and more.

The possibility of Lorenzo leaving HRC Repsol Honda at the end of the season now it is quite surprising that throughout the entire weekend really of the last GP over Phillip Island and Buriram.

“There are no other options than to continue with Honda. In the end, I signed a two-year contract last year. My goal is to be competitive with this bike.” Lorenzo said.
