Failed to lead AS Roma to win the 2022-2023 Europa League, Jose Mourinho was immediately outspoken about his future. Mourinho said that he would hold talks with AS Roma regarding his future in the near future.
As is known, AS Roma failed to win the 2022-2023 Europa League after being defeated by Sevilla via a penalty shootout 1-4 after playing a draw in 120 minutes with a score of 1-1. The match took place at the Puskas Arena, Budapest, Hungary on Thursday (1/6/2023).
After failing to bring AS Roma to win the 2022-2023 Europa League, Jose Mourinho immediately revealed his future. He said he would hold talks with the Giallorossi – AS Roma’s nickname – in the near future.
“I’m going on vacation on Monday. If we have time to talk about it before Monday, we will. If not, I will go on vacation and then we will see,” said Jose Mourinho, quoted from Football Italia, Thursday (1/6/2023).
“I have to fight for these players and therefore not say objectively that I will stay,” Mourinho continued.
On the other hand, Jose Mourinho admits that he wants to stay with AS Roma. However, the former Chelsea coach also revealed that he was tired of being a coach.
“I want to stay, but my players deserve more,” continued Jose Mourinho.
“And I also deserve more. I want to fight more, I’m a little tired of being a coach and head of communications. My fatigue has become so much,” he concluded.
