Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp has acknowledged the greatness of the two Bundesliga stars who are currently being hotly discussed. The two players in question are Bayern Leverkusen’s talented young midfielder Kai Havertz and RB Leipzig striker who has often been linked with Liverpool, Timo Werner.
Juergen Klopp did not deny that he would not refuse if there is opportunity to bring the two players to Anfield Stadium, Liverpool headquarters. However, he was aware, the club’s financial situation in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic had affected Liverpool’s ability to compete in the transfer market.
When Liverpool expressed interest in Werner, the German player was reportedly getting closer to his English Premier League rivals Chelsea. In fact, the club nicknamed the Blues have reportedly agreed on the purchase clause of the player which reached 49.4 million pounds.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz, a 20-year-old youth who shines after impressing performance in the last two seasons with Bayer Leverkusen, is said to be sold to another Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich. “There are many good players on this planet. Timo Werner is a great player, Kai Havertz is a great player,” Klopp said.
“There are a lot of rumors in England, about the players who will be brought by Manchester United and who will be recruited by Chelsea. In Liverpool it has been rather quiet (a matter of transfer) lately. We don’t know when we can hold matches with the crowd again,” he added. “At the moment all clubs are losing money. Without spectators, we have to return all ticket money this season and maybe not be able to sell it next year, maybe the first 10 to 15 matches,” he added. “This situation will affect our partners and a number of other things. We cannot pretend that everything will be okay in the future,” Klopp explained.
Meanwhile, the Premier League, England’s highest caste, will roll back on June 17, 2020. That is, Liverpool is getting closer to the English League trophy they have been waiting for since 30 years ago. The possibility of grabbing the English League title this season is wide open because the club nicknamed the Reds only needed two more wins.
Currently Liverpool still tops the standings with a collection of 82 points from 29 matches. They are 25 points ahead of Manchester City, who are ranked second in the standings with 57 points from 28 matches.
