Jurgen Klopp confirm Liverpool lose Diogo Jota

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that one of his strikers, Diogo Jota, has suffered an injury against Manchester City. The German coach said Diogo Jota would not play when Liverpool played against West Ham United.

Liverpool successfully won a narrow victory over Manchester City in the 10th week of the 2022-2023 Premier League. The Reds-Liverpool’s nickname- won with a score of 1-0, the victory also stopped Josep Guardiola’s squad’s unbeaten record in the 2022-2023 Premier League.

The match, which was presented at Anfield, Liverpool on Sunday, October 16, 2022, became Manchester City’s nightmare. Mohamed Salah was the actor who scored the Reds’ winning goal in the 76th minute after using Alisson Becker’s pass.

However, in that match Liverpool had to lose Jota. Because Jota was injured and had to be replaced by Konstantinos Tsimikas in the 90+9 minute.

After the match, Jurgen Klopp said Diogo Jota would not play for Liverpool against West Ham United due to an injury. He admitted that he did not want to force the 25-year-old in the next game.

“We missed the next one with Diogo Jota. He was in real pain at that moment but I don’t know how bad it was. If Diogo Jota stays below it’s not good,” said Jurgen Klopp. ).

The German coach said Diogo Jota’s muscles were exhausted after being hit by a kick by a Manchester City player. However, he thinks playing 96 minutes is not good for the player’s muscles and Jurgen Klopp has made it clear he will wait for the development of Diogo Jota’s injury.

“I could see a little bit (that) someone kicked his leg and then maybe the muscles got overwhelmed. After 96 minutes it wasn’t good for the muscles, he immediately felt it and now we have to wait (to see) how bad it is,” he explained.

With this victory, Liverpool managed to move up to eighth place in the Premier League standings for 2022-2023 by pocketing 13 points from nine matches. Meanwhile, Manchester City failed to shorten the distance with Arsenal who sit in first place.
