Juventus Beat Milan 2-0, Thanks to Goals from Mandzukic and Ronaldo

Juventus won over hosts AC Milan 2-0 in the 12th match of the Italian League Serie A 2018/2019 at the San Siro Stadium on Sunday (11/11).

The Old Lady’s opening goal was presented by Mario Mandzukic in the eighth minute utilizing an assist from Alex Sandro. Cristiano Ronaldo also scored to double the winning score to 2-0 in the second round.

Entering the second half, Milan tried their best to score the equalizing goal. The team made by Gennaro Gattuso often confined the Juventus defense. However, the solid defense of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad is still hard to penetrate by Milan.

Juventus, which relies on effective play, almost even scored again against the home side. Paulo Dybala’s free kick in the 57th minute still hit the Milan goal post. Gattuso then pulled out Samu Castillejo in the 62nd minute was replaced with Patrick Crutone to add power banging. However, the effort was still in vain to penetrate the sturdy defense of the Old Lady.

Entering the 81st minute, the Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, showed his strength. He scored a goal doubling the Old Lady’s advantage through his hard kick. Meanwhile, the goal that Ronaldo scored became his own record, the player broke a bad record after never scored at the San Siro Stadium. Ronaldo, who has scored more than 600 goals in his career on the green field, was finally able to score at AC Milan and Inter Milan headquarters. Successful scoring on his sixth appearance at the San Siro. Ronaldo’s previous five matches at the San Siro was when he strengthened Manchester United and Real Madrid. The bad record breaking goal was done only after he was in Juventus uniform.

“I am very happy especially for the team because playing to Milan’s headquarter is always very difficult,” Ronaldo said.

“Winning 2-0 at the San Siro Stadium does not mean a great achievement. It is important to win because Napoli beat Genoa so we must keep our distance from them.”

It is ironic not long ago, Gonzalo Higuain who loaned Milan from Juventus actually got a red card or second yellow card in the match.

His violation of Benatia produced a yellow card in the 83rd minute, but his refusal was answered by the referee with a red card. Higuain’s ambition to score against Juventus has vanished.

The lack of players makes it harder for Milan to catch up. The match ended for the visitors’ victory at the San Siro Stadium.

The victory increasingly strengthens Juventus’s position at the top of the Italian League Serie A 2018/2019 with collecting of 34 points. Second place is Napoli, which is six points different from the Old Lady.
