Juventus vs PSV Eindhoven Result: Score 3-1

Juventus successfully defeated PSV Eindhoven with a score of 3-1 in the matchday 1 League Phase of the 2024/2025 Champions League held at the Allianz Stadium, Tuesday (17/9/2024).

Juventus’ three winning goals over PSV were scored by Kenan Yildiz, Weston McKennie, and Nico Gonzalez. PSV managed to score a consolation goal through Ismael Saibari’s action.

Thanks to this result, Juventus was able to start their journey in the new era of the Champions League very convincingly. However, conceding at the end of the match could have a big impact on the calculation in the standings later.

Juventus immediately appeared aggressive from the start of the match. The hosts also managed to open the lead when the match was 21 minutes old through Yildiz’s action continuing Nico Gonzalez’s assist.

Six minutes later, it was McKennie’s turn to register his name on the scoreboard, starting with Nico Gonzalez’s brilliant movement. Juventus was increasingly on top.

Juve created a number of opportunities, but the hosts were unable to increase their lead. The 2-0 score remained until the match entered the halftime break.

Returning from the locker room, it was Nico Gonzalez’s turn to score a goal, after being the creator of the previous two goals. The Argentine winger broke into PSV’s goal in the 52nd minute.

The 3-0 advantage made Juve lower the tempo of their game a little. A series of player substitutions were made by Thiago Motta. The same thing happened with PSV.

In the third or last minute of injury time in the second half, PSV was able to thwart Juve’s ambition to achieve a clean sheet after Saibari successfully broke into Michele Di Gregorio’s goal. The final score of this match was 3-1.

Kenan Yildiz was voted the best player in Juventus’ 3-1 win over PSV Eindhoven.

Kenan Yildiz played brilliantly in Juventus’ front line. The 19-year-old star played a part in opening his team’s lead and also became the first goal scorer in the Champions League League Phase.

Yildiz’s goal process can be said to be very beautiful. The winger from Turkey unleashed a curved shot into the far corner of PSV goalkeeper Joel Drommel’s goal.

Overall, Yildiz was recorded as sending the ball into the final third of the opponent’s area five times, recording 100 percent successful tackles, and recovering the ball seven times.
