Kalidou Koulibaly asked Chelsea fans to be patient after the Blues were slaughtered by Manchester City. The centre back from Senegal admits that he still has faith in the Blues squad – nicknamed Chelsea – to rise.
Chelsea have only been able to win one of the last five matches in the Premier League. This made Graham Potter’s squad fall to 10th place in the standings with only 25 points collected.
Most recently, Chelsea were beaten 0-4 by Manchester City in the 2022-2023 FA Cup match. They were completely powerless in the match which was played on Sunday 8 January 2023 at the Etihad Stadium.
Of course Chelsea must immediately improve to be able to end the slump they are currently experiencing. Koulibaly is also aware that the Blues are currently in difficult times to be able to perform optimally.
“These are difficult times and we are aware of it,” wrote Koulibaly in his Instagram upload, @kkoulibaly26, Monday (9/1/2022).
Therefore, Koulibaly also said that Chelsea must continue to unite so that they can return to compete optimally. The 31-year-old player is still optimistic that Chelsea can soon rise from their slump.
“We have to stay united and work hard to get out of it” added the Senegalese national team player. “I think we can do it. I believe in this squad!” he concluded. In the next match, Chelsea will face Fulham in the 2022-2023 Premier League continuation. This match will be played at Craven Cottage on Friday 13 January 2023.
