Kane: “We want to inspire a generation”

Harry Kane says he and team-mates want to inspire a new of England football players after reaching their first World Cup semi-finals since 1990 in Russia.

England fell into the easier side of the draw following a defeat to Belgium in the group stages but non face a tough tie against Croatia in their last four.

Kane has scored six goals in the World Cup so far, he has proven himself priceless, demonstrating killer instinct and nerves of steel on his team’s path to the quarter finals.

As for the Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane, another goal from South Gate’s side leading scorer would have meant him outscoring Paolo Rossi and Gary Lineker when they won the Golden Boot in 1982.

Will Kane beat Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku to top scorer of World Cup 2018? Lukaku is currently in second place top scorer, the Manchester United striker has done his best to keep pace with Kane by scoring four goals of his own.

England defeated West Germany 4-2 to win the 1966 World Cup. Their icon Sir Geoff Hurst scored hat-trick the tournament hosts at Wembley. Victory remains England’s only World Cup triumph, 52 years on.

Kane, meanwhile, he admitted that’s a great achievement and very proud of Sir Geoff Hurst. And now he is keen to finish the job and very excited to tray and do same thing in Russia.

“It’s amazing to meet any heroes from 1966 and it gives you so much inspiration, obviously it’s been a  long time since England have done well in a major tournament.” Kane said.

“No one wants to go home. Everyone wants to finish the job and we are excited to try and do that. We want to be here till the end. We are one step closer to what is the biggest game in football as a professional.” Kane added.
