The Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday beat the Golden State Warriors by 134 to 124 with a great performance by Kawhi Leonard.
The star, after all, scored 33 points, seven rebounds and four assists. In addition, he equaled his personal best in three-pointers. That’s because seven were converted in nine attempts.
With Kawhi Leonard’s inspired night in triumph over the Warriors, the Clippers bounced back from two straight losses and won again. The ace reached the mark of 100 games for the franchise.
On pitches, the 31-year-old player’s night was almost flawless. He, after all, had more than 70% in two and three points.
Kawhi was supported by Norman Powell. Coming off the bench, the winger had another great game.
In 25 minutes, he scored 24 points, with three balls from the perimeter. Paul George, in turn, also did well with 20 points.
It is worth remembering that coach Tyronn Lue had at his disposal the reinforcements acquired in the NBA trade deadline.
Then, Eric Gordon, Bones Hyland and Mason Plumlee debuted for the Los Angeles team.
All, by the way, were on the court for more than 15 minutes. However, none of the reinforcements surpassed the ten-point mark.
Plumlee finished with eight points and five rebounds. Hyland scored six points, while Eric Gordon had seven points.
The Warriors fell to 29-29 at the break. They hope to have Stephen Curry back not long after the season resumes, while newly acquired Gary Payton II could be out a month.
Klaye Thompson, with 18 points, was also featured. In addition to them, Jonathan Kuminga, scored 16 points in 21 minutes and Draymond Green had a more participatory night in the attack. The veteran then had 15 points and distributed seven assists.
The result was bad for the Warriors. Now, it remains in ninth place in the Western Conference with 29 wins and 29 losses. As a result, it distances even more from eighth place, Minnesota Timberwolves.
