UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is reportedly ready to fight former middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather in the 11 rounds of boxing and one round MMA fight.
There are rumors that boxing legend Mayweather and UFC President Dana White are working together to create a crusader. The “Money” will expect to cash a check if he collides with an MMA fighter, who would do better to face the undefeated Khabib.
“He just wants to be on top media, you know. I saw his birthday a few days ago, he is 49 or 48 years old, but my father, he is almost the age of my father. I don’t understand how I’m going to hit his face.” Khabib said.
“If you want to fight, come to the UFC, it’s a real fight. I am not a boxer, I am not only a wrestler, I am an MMA fighter.
“If he’s interested, maybe we can do something like my dad already talked about before, like maybe an eleven rounds of boxing and one round MMA. Like eleven three-minute box rounds, and the last round, five minutes MMA. If he signs this deal, I can fight.
“I don’t think he can knock me out in eleven rounds. And what will he do on the last lap? Five minutes with me, I’m going to knock him down, I’m going to manhandle this guy. What is he going to do? You know, of course, in boxing he is very good. I agree with you. But I don’t think he can knock me out,” Khabib added.
Back in July, Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz said the boxer was begged for a fight because he is running out of money.
“Floyd’s running out of money. I’m telling you, people reaching out to me every week about Floyd to fight Khabib but at the end of the day, we’re not interested for now.” Abdelaziz said.
Khabib is currently preparing to face Tony Ferguson in the main event at UFC 249 this April in the New York.
On the other hand, it wouldn’t be Mayweather’s first fight against an MMA fighter. He beat the Irishman Conor McGregor in the 10th round. There has been a lot of speculation recently that he could potentially fight McGregor again or even Manny Pacquiao.
