The replay of the 2017-2018 Champions League final will be again on display. Liverpool will again face the Spanish giants, Real Madrid in the 2020-2021 Champions League quarter-finals.
The first leg match will take place at the Real Madrid headquarters, Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium on April 7, 2021. Meanwhile, the next meeting is scheduled at Anfield Stadium on April 15, 2021.
The Reds are haunted by nightmares after losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in the 2017-2018 Champions League final. No wonder this meeting, Zinedine Zidane’s troops are more favored than Mohamed Salah and his colleagues.
However, coach Jurgen Klopp was not at all afraid of the Spanish giants. According to him, the defeat suffered by his team has been going on for a long time and he believes Liverpool can perform better this time.
“It was over two years ago we faced them and it was a difficult night for us. So getting the chance to fight them again is amazing for us, “Klopp said as quoted from Liverpool’s official website, Saturday (20/3/2021).
“I know it’s a different round and whatever happens we will deal with it as much as possible. We will play according to our style, “he added.
Klopp spoke of a possible match which should be played on a neutral ground. According to Klopp, this will not be too problematic for his team.
“If it’s going to be played in Budapest, that’s okay. We’re fine with that. “Hopefully home games at Anfield, it will be good too,” he said again.
“So, no, there’s nothing bad to say. Actually there is nothing bad to say and everything will work out well, “he said.
