Klopp Had Fear Fired by Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp said he had feared being fired by Liverpool management at the beginning of his career managing the club.

Klopp officially became Liverpool coach on October 8, 2015 with a contract for three years. The German manager also promised to make people who were initially doubtful at Anfield turn into believing in the mix within four years.

“Obviously we need time and we can’t fix it overnight,” Klopp said in an interview with Sky Sports as reported by the Daily Mail.

“I asked for time, like that at that time. I know that in my career, I have never been fired. But I also know that now I am at a different level and if I fail to produce results quickly, I could be fired.”

Klopp took over the post of Liverpool coach who was previously occupied by Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers was sacked for Liverpool’s poor start to eight games at the start of the season.

Liverpool’s performance under Klopp immediately showed a positive development. The Reds won away games at the headquarters of Manchester City and Chelsea.

However, when playing at home to Liverpool unexpectedly surrendered from Crystal Palace and can only draw against West Bromwich Albion. Although his team continued to have problems with consistency, Klopp claimed to have the full support of Fenway Sports Group as the club owner.

“The good thing is that after seven or eight matches, our owners look at the situation positively. All the games have passed and they are more confident we are on the right track,” Klopp said.

“After that moment, they never asked for the team for even a second. They really believed in us,” he continued.

Liverpool owner’s patience with Klopp is sweet. The former Mainz and Borussia Dortmund coach finally succeeded in giving the Champions League the 2018/2019 season and continued with the Club World Cup title.

The victory ended the suffering of Klopp, who lost three previous final matches with Liverpool. The port city team lost in the English League Cup final against Manchester City, beaten by Sevilla in the Europa League final, and failed to block Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

At present, Mohamed Salah et al are on the verge of being defeated by the Premier League champions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This title will end the long wait for Liverpool who have not won the top caste competition in 30 years in England.
