Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid both won in the Spanish League match, Saturday (26/2).
Atletico beat Celta Vigo 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. Renan Lodi scored two goals for Atletico. Lodi’s first goal was born in the 36th minute while the second goal came in the 60th minute.
In the process of the first goal, Renan Lodi pressed the right side of the Celta Vigo defense after receiving a long pass from Geoffrey Kondogbia. Renan Lodi then fired a left footed shot towards the near post which could not be blocked by Celta Vigo goalkeeper Matias Ezequiel Dituro.
Meanwhile, in the second goal, Renan Lodi showed his movements that were not detected by the Celta Vigo back line. Renan Lodi successfully escaped the offside trap when he received a long pass from Kondogbia.
Renan Lodi then coolly slotted the ball into the net from close range.
Atletico’s victory made them temporarily in fourth place in La Liga. Los Rojiblancos collected 45 points, three points ahead of Barcelona who are in fifth position.
However, Barcelona has only played 24 games, aka still has two more games left than Atletico.
In the previous match, Real Madrid managed to return from the headquarters of Rayo Vallecano with three points in hand.
Los Blancos earned full points with difficulty. Madrid only won by a narrow score 1-0 and their only winning goal was scored by Karim Benzema in the 83rd minute.
Real Madrid just got a golden opportunity in the 25th minute. But Karim Benzema’s shot can still be secured by the goalkeeper. Los Blancos were actually able to break the deadlock in the 39th minute. But Casemiro’s goal was disallowed by the referee, after VAR declared offside.
