Lallana Found Similarities between Liverpool and His New Club

Adam Lallana has officially left Liverpool and is a Brighton and Hove Albion player on a free transfer. The certainty of Adam Lallana’s departure from Liverpool was announced directly by Brighton and Hove Albion via their official Twitter account on Tuesday (7/28/2020).

Adam Lallana himself has strengthened Liverpool for 6 years since being brought in from Southampton in 2014. During the Reds uniform, the British player appeared 178 times and scored 22 goals and 22 assists. The English league title was a sweet farewell gift for Lallana’s career at Anfield.

Undergoing a three-year contract with Brighton, Lallana admitted he found similarities between his new club and Liverpool. According to him, Brighton underwent the same development stage as he had experienced with Liverpool.

The 32-year-old said that Brighton coach Graham Potter faced a task similar to what Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp faced in 2015. Lallana also believes that what his new club do in the future will bear good results, as has been experienced by Liverpool.

“In terms of how to play, they want to handle the ball, control the game and dominate possession, that is my strength,” Lallana was quoted as saying from the club’s official website.

“It excites me to play like that, but you can’t just rely on it. You have to be ready to win the tackles and win the ball too. If you get the right mix to be successful, both with and without the ball, then it’s a formula that must be used.”, he added.

“If you play well more often, you will win the match by doing the right thing. This is a project and it takes time to be able to build it. I saw it in Liverpool when we won the league in the fifth year (Jurgen Klopp). This is the process of developing the phase by phase. You might not get results overnight, but if you stick to it, then you will work towards something that is expected and that is what I feel we will do in Brighton,” said Lallana concluded.

There are some people who feel lost because Lallana decided to leave Anfield. Jordan Henderson is one of them. Henderson and Lallana are known to have very close relationships outside the field.

Through his personal Twitter account, Henderson thanked Lallana, who has been defending Liverpool for 6 years. “Thank you for everything you have done for me, my family, and this football club (Liverpool),” Henderson said.
