On the eve of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the last one before the summer break scheduled in the F1 calendar, Williams’ Lance Stroll on Thursday set a positive balance if his first half season in the series of motorsports.
Before the Hungarian Grand Prix, Stroll was at 12th position in the F1 standings with 18 points. His team-mate Felipe Massa comes just ahead of him, with 23 points. Though he is satisfied with his performances so far, and he admitted that he will have to work hard to move up the standings position.
“There is always room improvement,” Stroll said. “I keep learning new things every time I find myself behind the wheel. But I am very satisfied with the way things are going.
“Obviously, there were some very though times, I was expecting my first season in F1, and there were some great moments. There was a podium in Baku, a wonderful, moment, so I am satisfied with my crop points so far this season.” he added.
The 18-year-old driver added in retrospect he realised he was well prepared to make the jump in F1 this season. His approach is very different from that he had adopted in 2016 when he dominated the plateau in F3.
“I always dreamed if driving in F1, and that’s exactly what I expected,” Stroll said. “I knew it would be extremely difficult, but it’s great from a personal point of view.
“Right now, I know that if I get a few points, then it’s like a win, and if I get one, then it’s like I’m finishing second. We have to take reality differently, and aim at different goals. But when you’re at the top, then you’re at the top, and I like it.” Stroll added.

Even though he was often has to give way to the track to star drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, among others. Stroll believes that his team still has a lot of work to hope to win the other teams fight, behind Mercedes, Ferrari, and even Red Bull.
“We are aware that our car adapts well to certain types of circuits, while it is uncontrollable on the others. This is one of our main problems,” Lawrence Stroll’s son said.
