Lance Stroll has totally changed in a Formula 1 season

Lance Stroll had only played one season in Formula 1 and it was not easy for him, especially after a difficult start last year.

Nevertheless, the young driver admits that he has totally changed and that the one he was last season had nothing to do with the one he is now, as he prepares to lead Williams to the sides from beginner driver Sergey Sirotkin.

“I think I have changed completely in the last year. I learned a lot and gained a lot of experience fighting at the highest level and with the best drivers in F1.” Stroll said.

“We go through a lot of different emotions, we face a certain adversity and I also discovered what it’s like to get on the podium and go to the front row.

“It taught me a lot about the fact to be a race driver, to travel around the world and run on different circuits and against the best drivers in the world.” Stroll added.

The Canadian driver finally tells that Formula 1 put him in front of a challenge that was no different from the previous series in which he drove, but rather to adapt his behavior and level to the size of the challenges represented by F1.

“I just had to learn and adapt much more than in the past, because there is so much to do in F1, there is so much to master to be a pilot and it takes almost perfection.” Stroll said.

“To finish a weekend with a good result, I am a driver totally different from the one I was in Melbourne in 2017.” he added.

The 19-year-old driver hopes he can improve his performances and creating biggest goals for maximum success in 2018 season.

“Auto sport is more than F1. In auto sports, there are many nice races to do. Fernando Alonso is here for exactly the same reason as me – he just wants to win, drive, and he loves the race. And that’s all.” Stroll said.

“We want to win this race, of course. We have this goal, like everyone else. But whether we win or not, I’ll come home and continue to do what I do.

“I want to win every single race – it’s a bonus of course. But just being here is great, being with my friends, sharing the car. It’s an opportunity that only happens once in a lifetime.

“Normally, there is always someone to be busy elsewhere, but this time it worked for all of us, and that makes it a lot more fun.” he added.
